I arrived just a few minutes after my father rolled into town, so we finished bringing things up an into our rental house, which was only a stone's throw away from the path to the beach. The beach itself was up a deceivingly high or low dune...depending where you were in the process of walking up or down it. After settling our things, I took a quick look- see along the beach.
On top of the dune looking down.
This must have been low tide.
I became enamored of the way my summer dress blew in the wind as the waves tickled my toes. I've said it before. I'll say it again. I could be happy just standing in water for long periods of time.

The Outer Banks is one of my favorite places. What community are you in? hmr
Waves, just south of Rodanthe. It was far less developed than Kitty Hawk to the north...and we liked it that way:)
