Sushi c/o Tokyo Marina

Yesterday the boyfriend returned from Madison where he got to see Robert Kennedy Jr. speak about land conservation and a whole bunch of other people talk about it too.

We went to Tokyo Marina and sat at the sushi bar. I found it a bit odd (though not at all when it came to the sushi itself) that our sushi chefs both spoke Spanish and were definitely not Japanese. I've never come across non-Japanese people making the sushi. Ignorant girl that I am.

I had california maki and tempura udon. The boyfriend had the small sushi combination. All looked appealing and tasted even better. No wasabi tobikko though.

DAMN, b, that food looks stupendous. i just cooked dinner and all of a sudden i feel very unsatisfied with it all. i have found that this is the case in ny, too: sushi chefs are often latino. i read about it, too. in an article. that means it's true.

re: your above post. yes, that scene is funny. you hear about it, and then you see the movie, and then you, too, become one of the people who cannot stop saying that one line. and people who have seen the movie are all like "oh yeah, poop back and forth!" and people who haven't seen the movie look at you like you're one of those people who likes to talk about pooping all the time, which incidentally, i am not one of either. and have you seen the shirts? you know, the ones that say something like ))---(( forever ? they're like this year's "vote for pedro" shirts.

um, okay, i'm not trying to write an email or anything here. so bye.
