House of Sushi and Noodles Or House of Noodles and Sushi?

After my class today I had a hankering for sushi. I took the brown line to the red line just to see the snow falling and whatnot. The boyfriend wanted to go to Powell's Books to sell, uh, some books. I insisted that after the selling of books we have sushi for lunch. The boyfriend is feeling under the weather, so he wasn't as enthusiastic about the plan as I was...but in the end I think he didn't mind. He only sold about five books and used some of his profits (that were higher for trade than cash) to purchase the two books I had picked out: A book about writing by Margaret Atwood and The Time Traveller's Wife (both $4.95 new!). I also looked for one of my professor's collection of short stories, but to no avail.

Then! We went to House of Sushi and Noodles, but maybe it was actually the House of Noodles and Sushi. Either way. My goodness, did they have a deal for us. They have an $11.95 buffet where you get miso soup, tempura green beans and as many rolls of sushi from a list as you want.
The list included many vegetarian makis as well as many more exotic combinations...like Mexican (tuna, avocado and jalapeno), Hawian (Hawaian?crap) (shrimp tempura, pineapples and special sauce and Chicago Crazy (snapper, salmon, tuna and something else with avocado and cucumbers).
We came just as they were going on their lunch break. Because of this we were told we could only order four rolls per person and no more. We did and it was incredible (see above/below).
There were rules to the sushi buffet, these rules didn't apply to us because we came too late but they were:
1)order no more than two rolls at a time
2)they won't give you more rolls if you've left any rolls on your plate (reasons like 'you were just tasting, you didn't like it or a third reason I can't remember' won't matter--no more sushi for you)
3)they charge you five dollars for any sushi left on your plate
4)you can't take left overs home
5)you can't share your rolls with non buffet-purchasers

But really, four rolls for twelve bucks is incredible...especially when the value of some of the rolls on their own is 6-8 dollars.

Some of the fish didn't seem quite as flavorful somehow, but it was all very good.

And what's up with all these Spanish speaking sushi makers?
