Postal System Silliness
I also learned today that I cannot simply leave a stamped and addressed envelope in my mail box and assume it will be taken by the the mail man. I cannot fathom why this is. My neighbor didn't seem to share my outrage and confusion over this, but I am both outraged and confused. Never, not ever, in my life have I heard of such a thing...I have to walk three blocks to mail a letter, what?!

My roommate leaves the letters nestled halfway in the box sort of sticking out. Our mailman seems to take them away when he does this. You might also try lurking in the shadows waiting to pounce on your mail carrier and demand they tell you the best way to leave them mail.
