Japanese food is good most all the time and yesterday was no exception. The boyfriend and I went to Hama Matsu and feasted, feasted, feasted. We sat at the bar and got a close look at all the fish options.

We opted for sushi molds, unagi maki, calamari tempura and, of course, wasabi tobikko.

The tempura was not as flaky as I thought it would be, but it was hot and crispy.

Hama Matsu sushi molds are made to order...you ask for spicy or not spicy and which fish you would like. The above sushi mold had tuna, salmon, masago, crab and a crunchy pickled root (name forgotten).

The other sushi mold (above) had a a creamy wasabi sauce, white tuna (also known as albacore and really really wonderful) then chopped up spicy yellowtail...or at least I think it was yellowtail. The meal hit every spot that needed hitting and we even chatted a bit with the owner/chef.
Kudos, Hama Matsu.
Totally snowing...but will it stick?
