I just gave up reading Adverbs by Daniel Handler. I was really excited about reading this book because I am a large fan of Lemony Snicket and, well, he is Lemony Snicket. But somehow the tone and wit of his children's books don't quite do as well in his novel. I feel bad about it...it's been a while since I simply put down a book. But I'm 161 pages into it and I'm really not enjoying it very much or at all...too much swirly recycling of characters' names without any clarification. This book is about love and there are parts that are really great but as a whole not so much.
I also finished Frank Conroys Stop Time. That, on the other hand, was a very good book.
