Good Silly

On Friday, the boyfriend and I went out to dinner with a gaggle of Vassar people. One of the boyfriend's friends from college has just arrived back from a three month to Thailand and India to sort out visa stuff and this was a bit of a 'hey haven't seen you in awhile...or that person ever' kind of dinner. We ate at Thai Aroma along with the aforementioned friend and five other faces I had seen twice or never before. I had the fried tofu appetizer and wonton soup, thinking that the combination had been so very fulfilling and happy-making in Madison a while back...the thought was: why mess with a winning combination?
The tofu was good and hot, crispy but a little moist inside and cheap (3.99). The soup, on the other hand, was disappointing. Three or four wontons in a purely chicken broth, no hint of another lurking herb, not nothing. It was the kind of soup you'd really feed a sick person. Not bad, in that respect, and cheap but a little on the boring side.
Afterwards we went to some bar with an interesting name and I tried a Delirium Tremens for the first time. And one of the aforementioned never-seen-before Vassarites had gone to high school near where I went to high school, so we had a conversation about that. Generally a good, silly night.
