I like me a chunky salad. Whole cubes of tomatoes fat black olives quartered artichoke hearts...that kind of thing. No wispy waspy slivers of red onion for me, I'd much rather have chunks of spicy radish. Yeah. I'm hard core. You love it.

Israelis make a lot of chopped salads, seasoned with little more than good olive oil, salt and pepper; actually, it's probably a Middle Eastern thing, very good.
MMm. Middle Eastern salads indeed. There was a restaurant in Poughkeepsie, New York that made a 'Jordanian Salad' that was just amazing. I do a rendition of it with olive oil, salt, pepper, lemon juice and sumac.
