The Sunday after the chicken roasting I met up with N., N. (whom I will now refer to as "N-squared" and, after a bit, Mr. Ass. N-squared and I ordered a first big helping of dumpling deliciousness, which included siu mai, shrimp dumplings, spinach dumplings and sticky rice balls. I had never had the sticky rice balls and expected them to be as delicious as the usual sticky rice domes that I have had from time to time--that lovely sausage taste ingratiating itself to your taste buds with every turn--but I was sorely let down. The dish lacked a salt/sausage component and, generally, I found it kind of bland. On the whole, however, dim sum was as good as it ever was.
Mmm, taro.
