Meet a blurry Zul. He has arrived and he's marvelous...still definitely adjusting and sticking around my room (and under my bed) most of the time but he has made nocturnal forays into the rest of the apartment. And he has definitely gotten his pet on.
This is a photograph of Zul considering a morning foray into the rest of the apartment...he decided against it and came back to me, where I pet him some more.

that is a very handsome cat. may i ask... what does "zul" mean or refer to? the name, not the cat. i know what the cat is referring to. what?
well thank you.
zul is the name the cat came with...it rhymes with the hebrew word for cat (ask seth maybe he'll know what that actual word is...unless you have enough jew in you to know). others have mentioned that zul is a demon type in ghostbusters.
i wanted to name the cat ellery because i thought it would be funny. i was alone on that one...that's not entirely true, some thought it was funny.
yes, i've had many conversations about the idea of naming a cat after myself or after a friend. the name seth came up in discussions.
zul is certainly the demon in ghostbusters who, if i'm not mistaken, lives in sigourney weaver's fridge. i always imagined it spelled "zool," though, but i might have made that up.
ah beautiful kitty.

My name's Zul & in my case It's short for "Zul-Qarnain".
It translates to "The king with two horns" & I believe comes from the nickname given to alexander the great whilst he conquered the middle east.
Bit of insight for you there!
Take it easy,
Zul
