A blog chronicling my departure from urban life on the east coast to sheep farm and cheese making life on the west coast. Still recounting the meals I have eaten in my new setting, but with more sheep thrown into the mix.

Steak and Corn
On Saturday evening I realized that my supply of black olives, snap peas and Camembert had pretty much exhausted itself (it wasn't substantial), and yet I didn't have much as far as other food options. So I took a closer look in the freezer. There I found a small, frozen Delmonico steak from Meadowbrook Farms and decided that I could filch it from the freezer (not really filch, I'll replace it). I prepared it simply, crushing black peppercorns and using kosher salt to give it a little rub. Then I took some frozen corn and cooked it up with a bit of half and half, ginger, and the drippings from the steak once I cooked it. Pretty good. I overcooked the steak, but that's nothing new.
