Politics

Is it just me or is Lehrer really trying to pick a fight? Are moderators always so insistent? It's like he's either trying to pick a fight or he's their shrink..

Senator McCain tell Senator Obama how you feel when he says you want to give tax cuts to rich people.

The ground rules, as goofy as they were, "required" the parties to address their remarks to each other. Given that McCain looked like he was going to blow a gasket if he had to even look at Obama, I think Lehrer was just trying to jolly it all along. I was a bit po'd that he didn't cut off McCain's aimless filibustering or interrupting of Obama but there it was.

The post-debate rally here with Obama and Biden was just great, police estimated 18,000, my guess is lots more. Downtown was packed. We had to get in line 6 blocks from the intersection of the street towards the rally to then down two more blocks to go thru the gates. It was amazing watching all these people loping along, chatting, sharing stories, wondering about getting rained on and where to leave our umbrellas ("no 'brellas" was not in the info in the paper) so there were stacks and piles of umbrellas. We left ours in the lobby of a club and then retrieved them afterwards. One lady apparently lost a beat up lawn chair but found her umbrella.

I was in a crowd of everyone: old, young, middle aged, babies, teens, moms, dads, black, white, all shades, all sizes, all pleased as punch to be there. Fired up and ready to go.
