AH CRABS!!! I waited til the next to last day of my B'more trip last summer to whine and beg for crabs! We ate them, in the July heat, but on a deck of a restaurant/dive on the outer inner harbor. Totally scrumptious, totally sticker shock to read what they were per dozen. And we ate some serious dozens yes we did!!

Long gone are the days of yore at Jimmy Cantlers somewhere south of the Bay Bridge on a waterway where all ya could eat softshell steamers and crabs held sway. Steamers, wow do they even exist on menus nowadays???

Probably good for the species that they are pricey. Sadness for the humans who love whacking them and eating them. Looks like an awesome time no matter!

I am totally impressed with the hat and the lipstick. I have been thinking about red red too, altho it is tough to find one as deep as yours with that blue hint....mine all end up with the red orange thing that so so does not work for me.

I laughed out loud at the baby bellied men. Especially the dude rockin' the stripes and the plaid. Who let him outta the house like that???

I am guessin' the M cousin is John and Mary's eldest? Wow. I saw D but not B.

Ok this is a food blog basically but what the hell is an indoor rowing class that ends up with the instructor from hell (yes I have had those my own self no elaboration needed) and it is 45 minutes of other torture??? Rowing is tough enough, if I understand rowing, but Romanian dead drop lifts? WTF. But you will be buff. I so long for my body pump copyright symbol here classes. Yes yes I do. No can afford the gym freight to take advantage of them. Sigh.

I really want to comment on this because it touches a sentiment that I sometimes feel as well and that I find hard to pinpoint. But that's the crux -- I can't quite express it. I still wish, though, that you'd write your/a novel. (Or more precisely, that I'd get to read it.) Weren't you thinking about something involving old photographs, possibly with brief descriptions on the back -- or am I misremembering that?

Ah me we still dye eggs, faithless or not, and then we make awesome deviled eggs (which in my childhood were known as stuffed eggs...go figure). Every year regardless of where we are we dye eggs. Some years we have to resort to scrounging the leftover genirc no name food dye in the "resort" shop 'n rob ersatz grocery (not even one step above a 7-11 really), some years at home we are wealthy in dye. And then deviled stuffed yummalicious eggs with filling. All good! And I resisted the urge to eat the ears off someone else's solid chocolate rabbit. How good is that!

Wow. Just wow. And I assume the regal if badly named Ranger is a Great Pyrenees? I had a friend here who had one, and one day when they were making a rarely made lamb stew, the dog went into the kitchen and had his own version of a doggy meltdown looking for all the world like he had failed in an epic way in his job to protect those fluffy critters. And this was a dog rescued from some idiots when he was a puppy and had never ever been on a working sheep farm. Ever. Bred in the genes I guess. So they the humans did not cook lamb in the house ever again.

I am guessing your hands were soft from all the lanolin but muscles tired from all the ewe wranglin'? What a great day tho.

I am seeing a libation trend here, interesting things with rye whiskey. Which gives me hope that we can use the lovely gift bottle left by D at Christmas time, and you can concoct wonderful refreshing post-beach drinks if we are all so lucky to hit Waves and waves again over Memorial Day. And now I want a recipe for ginger syrup so I can make my own version for this here refreshing beverage!
